Campaign Issues

The campaign has identified three important issues:

SECURITY, SCHOOLS, and STREETS 

 

SECURITY

Damian will improve responses to our calls for help. Residents are concerned about slow response times to our urgent 911 calls for help. We can all learn how to work effectively with our first responders. Damian will serve as an escalation point person when urgent matters cannot afford slow responses.

 

SCHOOLS

Damian will represent South Ward residents at school board meetings. He will make calls on behalf of students, parents and teachers to advocate for fair treatment and effecting learning environments. Students are offered far too little access to busing, causing many to ride public transportation with total strangers.

 

STREETS

Damian will hold the city accountable for poor waste management practices. The city must do a better job of recycling, picking up bulk trash, and removing graffiti. City owned property are neglected and rot as trash piles up and buildings collapse. There is a shortage of resident parking, roads need repairs, and traffic must be better managed.
